10 Tips for an Amazing Summer

Summer's here and it's time to soak up the sun and enjoy the longer days. Read on for our top tips for an amazing summer!

1. Take Time Off

Summer is the perfect season to take time off from work or school. The days are longer, the weather's nice, and you can take some time to relax, travel and spend time with your family.

If you have kids, summer is a great time to slow down and make some well-cherished memories!

2. Make a Plan With Your Family

You’re all in this together! As such, it’s a good idea to sit down with your family and outline your plans and expectations for the break. If you plan to travel, get the whole family involved in the decision-making.

While summer is great for downtime, figure out a plan for when the family will spend time together, when everyone will have free time and when everyone is expected to work on productive activities, like learning a new skill, creating something or reading.

3. Have Your AC Serviced

Nothing can ruin your summer like a faulty AC. If your air conditioner isn't running properly, your family will be less than comfortable, bringing your fun to a halt.

Having your AC serviced regularly helps catch any small problems before they become big (and often expensive) problems. Contact our team today to schedule your next service!

4. Try Something New

Since most of us tend to have a little more free time during summer, it's the perfect time to learn something new! Think of something you've always wanted to do, such as play guitar, go surfing or start a garden. Set yourself the goal of learning or doing something you've never done before.

5. Get in the Water

Make sure you spend some time in the water this summer. There are many ways to have fun in the water, even if you don't have a pool. Go to the beach, lake, water park, or simply set up a sprinkler and a slip and slide in your backyard.

6. Cook a Summer Meal

Be sure to enjoy an awesome summer dish. Toss together a salad with fresh veggies and fruit, throw some hot dogs on the grill or make homemade ice cream!

7. Enjoy Nature

Spend as much time outside as you can. Go on hikes, go camping, play sports — find something you love to do outside. Even if you're not active, you can still enjoy the summer weather. Go to a restaurant and dine alfresco or spend a relaxing day at the beach.

8. Host a Neighborhood BBQ

Even if you don't know your neighbors all that well, summer is a great time to get to know them. Get everyone together for a BBQ in your backyard. If you can't afford to feed a load of people, make it a potluck.

Organize some fun games for the kids and adults to play — if everyone has a great time, it may become a regular thing.

9. Travel

If you have the time and the means, travel. It doesn't matter where you go, to another country or somewhere in your state — just get away.

If you can't get away, do a staycation. Act like a tourist in your own town or visit the next city over for a day. Camp out in your backyard or sleep in a fort in your living room. Just try to do something different so that you can have a new experience.

10. Make the Transition to Fall Easier

The only bad thing about summer is that it has to come to an end. Whether you're heading back to work or school, you may feel reluctant to let go of those carefree summer days.

You can make the transition back to school and work easier by planning some fun fall activities as summer is coming to a close. Remind yourself that the cooler weather is another opportunity to get outdoors, and bonfires and visits to the pumpkin patch are right around the corner.
